  1. I have a GPX DV3000 DVD player, and contrary to those who also own this product, mine actually works with several platforms as I have discovered.

I had just created my first VCD and was happy to see it the movie playing on my DVD. The only problem was that I had burned a 2.0 VCD and in the corner of my TV it had said it was a "VCD 1.1".

My question is how do I change either my DVD player or the VCD to help one another recognize that it is a 2.0 VCD? I guess my real question should be is there a quality change since my DVD player sees it as a 1.1 VCD instead of a 2.0 VCD?

If not I suppose I should not fix what isn't broken.

    Thanks for the help.

  2. Possibilities:
Many DVD players will only interpret a VCD as VCD2.0 if you press "PLAY" after putting in the disc. If you press a number, it will start playing back the disc as VCD1.1.

If you DVD player has difficulty reading the disc (e.g., CD media compatibilitiy issue), it also has difficultly reading the PBC area of the disc. If it cannot correct read this section, many players will give up and simply play the disc as a VCD1.1.

Your DVD player is not capable of VCD2.0 (unlikely).
