Any good CCE guides out there??????

Im a long time TMPG user and was wanting to try something new so I thought I'd give CCE a try, I followed the guide here: http:// www.doom9.org/mpg/cce.htm . Seems to work ok except the speed is slow(0.49). I did some messing around and if I dont load the 'fake' avi into VD and just load it into CCE w/o frameserving thru VD the speeds come up to 2.0+. Am I doing something wrong?

Is there a guide out there for a n00b CCE user that gives good speeds and quality???

what filters are you using? those will slow down your encoding process, and that could account for the difference in speed...but I'm not sure if it would be that great. you might want to use avisynth to do your frameserving--it can do whatever VDub can, but it's faster.

and remember--your quality will depend on the source.

The only filter im using is the resize filter.

My source is a dvd(.vob's)

If that's the only filter, then avisynth is definitely the way to go.
what are your system specs? I run a PIII 800MHz w/512MB SDRAM, and I get about 0.5 running CCE2.5 w/avisynth and only resize filters.

60gig WD 7200
Readon 9000 pro

etc. etc. etc.

Avisynth seems confussing, the tut on this site got me lost. Any other guide out there?
