  2. @joepic

I changed the format like you suggested and set the properties accordinglgy, buy I get the following error:

I-Frame Insertion entry fram rate is not consistent with current tape frame rate. I-Frame import will be canceled.

What am I doing wrong? I have read the guides and it seems like it should be simple. I must be missing something silly. Any help is appreciated.

That is correct. It took me two passes to get both PGC's for Band of Brothers.

Each PGC was between 55 -115 minutes for play time. I set the MB MINIMUM between 2000 -2200 to chop the both down to fit on one DVD-R.
What about the average and max?

Adjusting the MB RESERVED will automatically lower ALL bitrate values accordingly. You ONLY need to adjust one parameter.

Where are you getting this error message, in DVD2DVD-R or Maestro when you are trying to add chapters?

  6. Joepic,

I also tried to import the Chapters from ChapterXtractor to DVD Maestro like you suggested, but am also getting the following message in DVD Maestro:

I-Frame Insertion entry fram rate is not consistent with current tape frame rate. I-Frame import will be canceled.

I get the message in DVD Maestro after choosing to import the *.CHP file.

  7. bubbajacks,

Try this method it will work.

On the Chapters right before I open the original ifo to extract my chapters using chapterxtractor i make a minor change.

I select presets for DVDmaestro then I make a change to the format.
I change the colon after %ss and before %ff to a semicolon. Then I open that original ifo and save my chapters.

@ NyPlayer, I read that method would work a while back and haven't tried it yet, as I usually just create my own chapter points when that error occurs. It seems to only occur every so often. I'm just curious though, why does a simple change from a colon to a semicolon work? I'm also curious why you can import the chapters smoothly on many occasions, but then you get that one movie here and there that gives you the I-Frame error. Either way, I will try this method and see if it works the next time I have the problem. But if you can tell me why this occurs, I would appreciate it. Thanks

  9. Defense,

You can read more in this thread it has to do with the drop-frame flag.
I saw this tip somewhere at Doom9 but I can't seem to locate it.

  12. can you keep the original menu as well in dvd2dvdr?
    or its like dvd2one?
    Quote Quote
  13. that I'm pretty sure would be done in meastro, you would have to reserve some space befre encoding, then reripp the menu and just aline the menu points. But I am really just guessing.
    Thanks alot,

  14. wizzy, yes you can. but you can like use DVD2One or DVDshrink to minimize the size of the extras amd wjem done authoring the movie titleset you just copy only the movie vob files over to the extras and then you just make an IFOupdate of the authored file with the original (vts_1_o.ifo)

I really need a favour from you letting me know how you make a final dvd with multiple PGCs...pleeeeease
I also ofcourse use DVD2DVD-r using CCE so I only need help with the authoring using scenarist pehaps from the very start. I understand so far that I need to encode every PGC listed from the movie titleset and to preserve more space when encoding the movie.

I think dvd2dvd-r is great if your just doing PAL movies. NTSC takes a little more manual effort. Wayned hosts my kinda a few months old guide. You can find the link to guide and download it here http://www.mrbass.org/dvd2dvdr

  16. When I try using DVD2DVD-r and select Scenarist as Authoring-Mode so a little while after I pressed Go I get an error
    "Index ausserhalb des gültigen Bereichs"

It is fine when I have it IFOedit

    I have scenarist 2.7 .... PRO I think

  17. Are you trying to do subtitles with NTSC dvd?
    quote from my guide
"DVDLab currently only supports ONE audio track | no subtitles. Scenarist can do multiple audio tracks but currently the scenarist script with dvd2dvd-r gives a compile error with subtitles"

This program rocks. Never had any problems with it except that the screen is too big and cannot be resized. It sets the average bitrate perfect. I usually set my minimum lower and my max higher but my results seem perfect and who knows what these should actually be. It is slow especially on 4 pass vbr took me 24 hours with my p3 800 on 3 hour lord of the rings movie but the results are perfect. I have not been able to understand the maestro technique which will give you the subtitles so I use the dvdlab technique which doesnt give me subtitles. It imports the chapters and I set it to autoplay the dvd with no menu.

    You think?

Try it without authoring checked. I always do.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  22. well... under the input/ output settings I must have the Authoring-mode selected to either IFOedit or Scenarist NT.

But under the last tab Settings I can deselect "Start Authoring" which I always do actually but still I get the same error afterwhile it is reading the forst vob file.

I can however select another PGC which is not the movie and it actually works fine. But why can´t I do it with the main movie.

It would be really nice if I could have the Authoring-mode to Scenarist NT so it can create a script for me to load up in scenarist.... is Scenarist NT a different version of 2.7?
... I am so lost with this one *sighs*
