Right - you may have read about the new KiSS DVD Player DP-450 , which can play ' ISO MPEG-4 and DivX (Ver. 4 & 5) '
Searching Google for ' ISO MPEG-4 and DivX (Ver. 4 & 5) ' gives lots of referances to this player, but nothing about what this format entails; I have loads of DivX's that I was gradually converintg to SVCD to play on my cyberhome AL-528, but it seams my RAID 0 array is failing, so I'm in panic mode, burning things as avi files onto data cdr's as avi files.
For a couple of hundred pounds I could buy this player, so..
what is ISO MPEG-4 and DivX (Ver. 4 & 5)?

Basically, it's DivX v4 and 5. It should play some XviD too. the thing is, it won't play quite a good amount of movies to start with (all the old "DivX
" one) nor those using QPel or GMC, nor lots of other codecs... Just not worth the hassle imho.
If you want to play a lot of DivX, you might want to consider a HTPC instead.
