I have had this drive for 8 months. It seems to make decent music (although, at times there are pops/background sounds toward the end of the audio CD on some of CD-Rs that I have made). I don't know if that is an issue with the length when I tried to max the discs out at 79min on a 80min CD or the CD-Rs I was using (Memorex plain 80min CD-Rs and Office Depot 80min CD-Rs). I have never had any errors identified when making CD-Rs.
Now, with the XVCDs, I have only been able to have the XVCDs play on some of the standalone DVD players. (mostly JVC and Apex). Still, the JVC will pause.
If it's the burner, I was looking at Plextor 12x10x32, an Aopen 12x10x32, or Sefy's Choice- Sanyo CRD-BP1400.
The Philips is an attractive CDRW burner, probably the most attractive out there, but I want a burner that will eliminate the XVCD from skipping or messing with the audio. Thanks for the replys..........

Hi
I'd go with a Plextor if i was you.
Got a 12x10x32 burnproof myself and it does everything that i expected it to do.
Now that Plextor have released the 24x writer maybe you should consider that as well.
In fact the only thing my Plextor does'nt do is Copy onto 99 mintue CDR's(i'm getting a Mitsumi to cure this problem) so i'll have 2 writers in operation.
But it will copy out to 89.57.00 mintues.
Hope that helps ya in your choice -
