    According to a Pioneer web site, (as of Dec 24, 2002)
    the DVR-105 can burn "RITEKG02" DVD-Rs at 2X.

    1) Is this correct?

    2) Who sells these?
    Are these RITEKG02 the $83-$85 per 100 Riteks that say 1X-2X
    with A04/DRU-500A with right firmware?

    CD Speed (select "Extra" from the menu, then "Media ID") can tell the media ID of your blanks, if someone can check.

    I checked my Riteks with CD speed they were G03's and they burn at 1X and I have 1.21 firmware.

    never seen the G02's anywhere...The G03's are more recent and burn at 1x although one guy said he could burn at 2x with them...and after everyone had bought them from PC Shop or something like that said he could no longer do it...
    The G04's burn at 4x.

    I read somewhere that princo 2X are G02's never tried those I have no idea if they work, and some other diferent branded DVD-r's are to but know what thiose are.

    The G04's burn at 4x.
    The G04's do not burn at 4x on the dru-500a. At least the ones I have don't.

    Never seen G02s either, but after hacking my firmware I was able to burn at 2x with the G03s. My first attempt at doing so came out bad, so I gave up at the time. But last night I burned a perfect disc at 2x so I guess its not as bad as I thought.

    Which drive's firmware did you modify?
    I assume an A04?
    I have the A05...
