  1. Couple questions regarding compressing vid files using Winrar.

I've got a 12 gig hard drive and need to make some room by removing the space eating vid files I have and putting them on data cd's.

Is it recommended to compress mpgs, avis, and such? Are there any problems doing so? Is the compression ratio worth it? Looking to compress 600mb to around 1gig files.
