subtitle question..

can some body point me a tutorial about backing up a dvd with the subtitles..I have backup a lot of dvd with success, now I am ready to learn something else...Iam trying to backup a foreign movie and I need the subtitles so I can understand the movie..

any help on this is greatly appreciated
