I have this DVD-R of my sister's dance recital that was made by a small video service company, and I need to make a copy of it for a friend of her's. I will end up putting it on a standard vcd because I don't have a dvd burner and I want it to be as compatible as possible.

Well, onto my dilema. When I put the dvd into my dvd-rom drive Real player comes up(my default audio cd player), I closed that out, and I tried to open SmartRipper and it says there is no dvd in the drive. I also tried playing it with PowerDVD and it said that it couldn't play a disc with that format. I then opened my computer and the cd name was Audio CD and has a size of 1.99Gb, and when I explore it all it has on it is a 1kb .cda track.

Can anyone tell me how to rip this, or has anyone even come across this before? A possibility I have thought of is that my dvd-rom may not be able to read dvd-rs. I got it in October of 2000,and I haven't tested it with any other dvd-rs. One more thing, this dvd does play in my Apex AD-800 standalone dvd player.
