  2. need more info. what do you mean which format to download movies? more than likely if your downloading the movies then they are already compressed. what you do after that is your choice. there are tools under the tools section to the left which will help you to convert the files and compress them into a vcd complient file but first i need to know what type of files your looking to make into a vcd. are they already mpeg, mpeg2, avi, mov, vob? after that then i can help you with the tools you need.

  3. Hey thanks for replying, well i have winmx and i was just typing in different movies and i seen they had different formats. (avi,mpeg...etc) and i was just curious which one would be best to download so i could burn onto a vcd. and i was also curious if i could do this with a regular burner or if i needed a dvd burner. The movie format that i do so more often is .avi and if i were to download that file extension then which program would be best to convert it to a vcd? Well thanks for any feedback.

  4. 90%+ of the stuff you'll likely to see will be in DivC format (xxx.avi). This is a MPEG4 compression. VCD is MPEG1 and SVCD is MPEG2. So you'll need to convert most files from typeX -> MPEG1/2. Take a look at the links to the left under 'convert' for how to do this.

The main thing is quaility of the source. Which is based on the bitrate of the encode. So you can't really say that DivX is better than quicktime (it would be smaller) because they person might have made a crappy DivX encode.
