    basically i have 2 avi files of 700 meg size each,using tmpgenc ive made disc1 [svcd] but for the second disc i have to use the end of 1st avi file and beginning of second avi file ,does tmpgenc allow this and if so how do you do it,ive played about with it to no avail

    If the AVI's are using the same encoding, resolution, bitrates etc, then you can load the first in VirtualDub, then use "Append AVI Segment" to load the second part (repeat ad infinitum or 'til your computer chokes ). Now, you have the whole movie "joined". Then set your starting point by moving the slider to where you want to start, and press the "Mark in" buttom (looks like a left arrow). Then move the slider to the end, and press "mark out" (right arrow). Then frameserve to TMPGEnc (described in various HOWTOs at this site).
    Easy, if the AVIs are in the same format. Hard if not.
