  1. hi, i read on the site that for an mpeg to be vcd compatible it should be 1150k/bit per second, and on the tmpgenc web site it says it encodes it 2.4% higher, making it 1177.6.
so my question is, should i set it to 1122.4 thus the actual mpeg bitrate will be 1150, or doesnt this matter?
i need to have the vcd perfect because i want to play it on a sony dvd player which i believe are a bit dodgy with cdr's.

    thanks,

  2. if your looking for the perfect vcd then how you want the quality is up to you. 1150 is just not good enough for for me. i have played around with different settings and found for myself that to get a good quality movie, you have to up the bitrate, makeing the file larger, and putting the movie on 2 cdr's. but that's my personal preference. my suggestion is to take a small mpeg file, like about 30 seconds, and encode it multiple times at a different bit rate each time. then you can judge for yourself what quality you'd like to use.
