I was wondering if it's possible to do this and if it is does anyone would have a guide? I'm converting seperately w/o problems right now but this would probably save me a step.

Have you considered using the DVD2SVCD Bundle.
It does all the steps from DVD rip to encoding automatically (you do have good control over the settings).
It uses DVD2AVI and then frameserves the result to either TMPGenc or CCE - can save you a lot of time and will run unattended. -
I usually load DVD2AVI's d2v file directly in to tmpgenc. It works fine for me.
