A freind of mine has a Sony DRU120 (I'm waiting on a DRU500), and a Toshiba SD1300 DVD player. According to this site this player should play +RW disks. However, only in mode2(?). She only had B's Gold CD burning software, and I tried a trial version of Ulead DVD MF2 (she's converting home movies etc), but the Toshiba would not recognise the disk.
I tried using MF2 to create folders(VIDEO_TS) on the hard drive, and burn with B in mode 2, but no luck.
I burned a DVD+RW with MF2 and took it home, where it played on my Hiteker(Apex) 5131 and 1000 and Singer SDG001.
The bit setting utility does not work on this drive (apparently), and she is not one to flash the firmware etc or mess with her new PC.
So............(sorry for the long winded explanation), can she use Nero or something else to burn in a compatible mode(2?) etc or do we really need to change a bit setting?? or should she look for a new DVD player??
Thanks
