divx/xvid convert to SVCD

Ok i am a total newbie at this i have never tried it but before i try it i need someone to please help me with the best STEP by STEP instrcutions on how to do this

i have a few divx/xvid movies i know not the best fromat but these are older movies that havent been released anywhere in svcd format so i want to convert these to SVCD format and keep the good quality they have now


please someone point me to the best/simpliest way for a newbie to convert these files to SVCD and still have good quality

im willing to use 3 700mb 80minute cds if that what it takes
