  1. Seems that I have messed my encoded Survivor episodes big time. I captured the episodes from TV to Pinnacle AVI and encoded them to MPEG2. Now whe I started to burn them on DVD all episodes flicker in motion scenes, so I think the field order has been set to upper field first instead of lower field first.

    My question is:
Is it possibe to change this in the MPEG2 files without re-encoding or should I encode them again with lower field first setting? I don't have the original AVI files anymore so there will be quality loss if I encode them again.

    Thank you for help!

This should be possible with pulldown.exe.

  3. I couldn't get the program to work. Also is it only for NTSC material? My MPEG2 files are in PAL format.

    Info from pulldown.exe readme file:

To change the field order to odd on a stream that you accidentally encoded as even:

    pulldown.exe source.m2v target.m2v -nopulldown -tff odd
    Should work for PAL too.

Get the gui for Pulldown.exe. A quick search on google for 'pulldown.exe' and 'GUI' should net you some results. Much easier...
