  1. When I try to encode some movies in tmpgenc and when i select the vcd or svcd original templates that came with tmpgenc. When I click next all is good but when I get to the file output size it says its around 2 gigs. The .avi file I downloaded was only 670 mb. Any help would be nice. Thx.

  2. Its not the size of the avi file that matters it is the length. A 2GB vcd compatible mpeg would be 200 minutes, if your AVI file is this long then it is not a problem. If it is not this long then TMPGEnc is probrably misreporting the output filesize because the avi has variable bitrate audio. TMPGEnc cannot handle VBR audio and will misreport the output filesize if the source AVI has VBR audio. The audio would also be out of sync when encoded. To solve this problem follow this guide.

  3. KK thx i converted it to .wav but hen i put it in tmpgenc it still estimates the same output size. I didn't want to waste my time to not use wizard and see if it came out at 715 mb at 1150 bitrate. Thats wat its supposed to come out as but When i have it in wizard with my video and seperate .wav file it still estimates 1.7 gig.

    Thanks for ur help.

  5. You first said the estimated output file was 2GB now it 1.7, has it reduced. And what is the length of your video.

  6. Oops I messed up. I'm such an idiot, sry for wasting ur time.

This movie lenght is 89 mins long and when i put directshow to highest prority it was 893 mb for vcd. But i thought i encoded a video before that was the same lenght but it wasn't the same lenght, it was 71 mins long.
    So i messed up.

Juss one more question now when i put directshow highest priority it goes it says it can't open or it not supported my file which is .avi

    Thx. :P
