Hi
Hope someone can help, I've been ripping without problem except I'm trying to rip an extreme ski video with a lot of fast action, fast camera movements to next scenes and sequences of rapid scene changing.
The problem is when I get a lot of fast action the rip seems to go into, like an odd frame mode, odd frame lines are one image, while the even another, so you can see odd/even lines banding across the movie. When things settle down it goes back to normal. (dunno if that described the effect well enough).
I've tried to encode to MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and DivX abut I get the same result. The source DVD is PAL. Frame sice 768x576 at 25fps.
Any ideas would be nice.
Thanks in advance
Stella

what progs do you use to convert to mpeg? if you use tmpgenc you could try "deinterlacing"

Thanks for the response.
I'm using DVDx to rip the clip. I've tried ripping to DivX, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, as the output format from DVDx.
Luckily the clip is from a PC dvd cover disc and is only 7-8 minutes long. So it's not too much hassle to rip and try different settings and re-encoding techniqiues.
Films I've ripped before have not had this effect.
