At the moment I'm putting some VHS tapes on VCD's and when I encode the videos with TMPGEnc (I use the Enhanced VCD (PAL) template from Sefy), and during the encoding, the video stops moving at about 80%, but the encoding keeps going. When the encoding finishes, the file works good up to the part where the video stopped moving, but the audio keeps going. Please tell me what to do as I have no idea.
Thanks.

Hmm, tough question, Im in the USA and use NTSC only but I dont think that has anything to do with your problem... tell me, what is the source files format???
What are you telling TMPENEnc to get its video/audio from? is it a RAW AVI file? and...have you actually viewed the file you are trying to encode to make sure this flaw is NOT part of the original source?
This all being said, I myself am trying to encode old VHS tapes however, my dilema is, if I just record say 10minutes and stop, when i view the RAW(uncompressed) AVI file Ive just captured, the audio is behind by over 2seconds right from the beginning, and gets worse as the captured file progresses....any thoughts? Have you come across this before?
Im using a 933Mhz IntelPC with 384MB ram, a 100GB Hdd, I use iuVCR and have tried capturing at 320x240 all the way up to 640x480, all get the same results, and my audio, ive tried 44100khz as well as 48000khz......
Maybe we can help solve one anothers problems! -
Well, I used PowerVCR II v.3 Deluxe to capture the video in MPEG2 with high resolution and bitrate. After the capture I used TMPGEnc to split the vidoe and audio. The video becomes m2v file and the audio mp2. Then I use Sound Forge to improve the quality of tthe audio since they are old tapes and are mono. I make the audio wav and at the encoding thing in TMPGEnc, the video is m2v and the audio wav.
Divx-Trdr, for your problem I suggest you use VirtualDub (you can get it from the tools section on the left) and capture using some kind of a codec like Huffeyav, AngelPotion or Divx 5. Under one of the settings there is an option to link the video and audio and it should work like it's supposed to.
I still haven't solved my problem, so any help is appreciated. -
I fixed my problem by making the video source the original MPEG2 captured file and changing the audio with the improved sound quality wav file and it works good.
