  1. I've burned bin and cue file several times on my computer with windows me, but I cant find one program that will work on my computer with windows xp. I tried cdrwin, but get this message: NO CDROM recording device was found on the SCSI or IDE bus. What does that mean and how can I fix it, or are there any cue/ bin burning programs that work with windows xp?

I use CDRWin 3 on Xp no probs, If i remember right i think i had to Make sure that my writer was in PIO mode And not DMA before CDRwin would pick it up Im not sure cos it was ages ago.

I think it says summat on there website.

But if all else fails you can use VCDgear to turn the Bin image back into a Mpeg.

  6. Nero sucks in genreal (unless you want to burn PC/mode1 data or audio files). CDRWin, CDRDAO (w/ gui: TSCV, VCD Easy, Xduplicator), etc. all work.

Do you have an ASPI layer installed in winXP? Because it doesn't come standard with one If not, d/load and install and see if that fixes the problem.

  7. when I downloaded cdrwin it said it came with aspi drivers I think. I dont know if that is the same as layers, but I still got that error message when I tried burning.

  10. to be honest with you, I've had no problems with Nero as long as I don't use their fancy functions. I load up the Bin/Cues with Daemon Tools as a virtual CD and then use "CD Copy" in Nero "on the fly" and can burn at as fast a speed as I want. There is no problem with mode 1 or mode 2 file configurations. Give this a try if you want. Just do a search for Daemon Tools if you don't have it. It will come right up in google.
