is the best bang for the $$ ?? I'm re-encoding with CCE but I understand I cannot use IFOedit to author after running CCE/Pulldown.. Also understand that I cannot get a copy of Maestro anywhere...![]()
Can someone make some recommendation which direction to go? I've got Sonic DVD (MyDVD) but after playing around with it, it's pretty weak..
Thanks.

Ifoedit 95 will author from an m2v created by CCE very nicely,I've done it many times. I don't use pulldown from forced film and the results are excellent.

Wait.. are you working with PAL or NTSC? I'm working with NTSC films (must be converted from 23.976fps to 29.??fps..). Can you provide more details please?? Thanks.

I'm working from NTSC. I convert at 29.97 frame rate,no forced film or Pulldown. I just set CCE for DVD,progressive frames,0-255 luminance, and 8 DCT. Author with Ifoedit 95.

You should read this article about Telecine, Force Film, and Deinterlacing:

Maestro is good, but not available anymore.
With CCE, for your NTSC source from DVD meant for television, you should use 12-235 for the luminance range, 0-255 can cause oversaturation of colors, although I think it's ok for MiniDV/D8 depending on the codec/clipping, etc. If in doubt, test both ways with a short test and save yourself disappointment down the road.
