    Just installed Ulead DVD MovieFactory 1.0 on both my Athlon XP 1600 / 512MB & my P4 2.2 / 512 MB systems.

When I try to load an mpeg2 (VBR) file I have encoded with ATI AIW 8500 of about 3-5 GB's, it will report that the video is only 3 min in duration, some files read to 8 minutes only.

I then tried to load someone else's mpeg2 file. Same problem.

Ulead tech suppt hasn't answered any of my emails.

Any other DVD MovieFactory users encounter this?

BTW - my movie players (PowerDVD, Win MediaPlayer, Real, etc) all have no problems reading and playing the large files.

  2. The original version had a kink in it that would not allow you to use an MPG2 file larger then 3.99 gb's.
It would only show a small amount of time being added in DVDMF. If the file was under 3.99gb's it would work OK. That was about a year ago.

Have you updated with any updates that have been available from the Ulead web site?

You've tried an MPG2 file smaller then 4gb???

I hear version 2 has a lot more goodies and it's only $50, maybe cheaper if you own version 1.

PS, If your brave and don't mind re-installing the OS and all your apps if things go very wrong, try this...
If you have installed the full version of DVDMF over the demo version I would suggest completely uninstalling all your Ulead software and then do a search in the registry for Ulead entries and remove any that point toward any .exe or.dll files. Then re-boot and reinstall your software.
BE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF THE REGISTRY BEFORE ALTERING THE REGISTRY.

Thanks unclebud. I downloaded the trial version of DVDMF 2. Worked like a champ. It'll be worth the upgrade.
