  1. Setup:
VCR connected to Canopus ADVC-50 (composite) connected via Firewire card to DV type 2 avi file

Capturing with Scenalyzer (and tried Vegas Video).
Encoding with TMPGenc basic DVD type template.

It seems when everything is converted and I watch it on my standalone DVD players there are these white lines that show up every now and then around the screen. Not really sure how to explain it. I was wondering what might be causing these and if they are correctable.

I am thinking it is possible to be my VCR because it is sorta a cheap generic type VCR.
    Anyone have any suggestions??

    Thanks

I think it may be your capturing program. May be you should try another. I capture with a $59.00 VCR once in a while, with Video Studio, and ir captures fine. Maybe you should try its demo, or maybe Virtual Dub.

  3. Who makes Video Studio? I have now tried a 3rd program - iuVCR and that does the same thing. I bought brand new cables so i know its not the cables. The only other thing i need to try is a different VCR.

I would try VirtualDub but for some reason I can't get it to work with my setup. I see no preview. I would like to get that working. I have a Canopus ADVC-50.

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

  5. Thanks. Tried Video Studio and got the same problem. You can actually see the white lines during the preview so I know it probably isn't a capturing problem per se.

The only things I can think of are: 1. VCR, 2. Firwire card/cable, 3. ADVC-50 card.

Anyone have any other suggestions or have seen this before?

    Thanks
