dvd2avi
next answer. look on the left under tools for dvd2avi
next answer. look at one of the guides that talks about frameserving with dvd2avi (you create a fake avi file that cce can "read" from)
next answer. download eazydvd from www.dvdeazy.com which is a "one click" way to make your vcd with having to know how to do anything or having to read guides
next answer.VCD quality is not the greatest on your large TV, if your dvd play can handle CVD format, download DVD2SVCD from www.dvdsvcd.org
your question:
multi pass VBR on these 2 DVD's with low motion and squeeze a total of 2 hours and 10 mins of audio and video on the 1 80 Minute disc....
If you want to squeeze that onto a CD in mpeg 2 format with CCE, I suggest you get a proggie like dvd2svcd and in the settings area for number of cd's for minutes, you ramp that baby up to cover what you need.
Hope that helps! -
thanks for the info....if there were more people like you on forums the net would be a better place....lol....i wasnt sure what app had the better multi pass....i will give dvd2svcd a go....it looks like it has lots of features to muck around with....just the way i like it....thanks again

well, we all had to start somewhere. I created a how to guide for both VCD and CVD on one of my websites. Figured I would save you about a years worth of time in going through all the stuff. Most people don't like the "geek" factor (affectionality said). they just want to know how to take a DVD and make it into something they can burn onto a CD without having to learn all the tech mumbo jumbo. For the few,the proud, the geeks (like me), I really enjoy messing with this stuff, more of a sickness than a passion.
In hindsight, I almost think it is better to have the all in one solution for the person starting out so that they can get the instant (after the 4-16 hours it takes to convert a dvd) gratification of making a VCD or CVD and then one day, going "hoe the hell is this exactly doing all this stuff and then learning. Anywho, my website, which give a somewhat factual breakdown of resolutions and whatnot as well as links to the software and screen shots of my settings and a start to finish (in my mind anyway) look at how to do it, is http://www.dewayneward.0catch.com/videoindex.htm
good luck and happy encoding. -
Personally I would have ripped the datastream in smart ripper, then frameserved with DVD2avi and passed it through vfapi to create a psuedo avi file. Then you will have total control. Doesnt take more than 5 minutes to complete the above, so its not a big job to do it.

I doubt it'll look any better than an atari game
Oh ye of little faith... um, you *did* mean a Jaguar game right130 is entirely possible with good quality, it just requires the right knowhow and a smidge of luck...
Heck with the very widescreen material (eg LOTR, 2.35:1), and minimal rate sound (112k-128k, remember to filter it properly and use JS!) 170 minutes is doable. That works best when making something for display on a 12-14" TV though!-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!
