Ok I have been using IfoEdit along wth CCE & Pulldown to backup my dvds... I have recently started using maestro to do the authoring and I have noticed something in the guides that makes me wonder....
I have been (IfoEdit) using pulldown after encoding with the following command:
Pulldown project.mpv output.m2v
But most of the guides I read say to use this command:
Pulldown project.mpv output.m2v –prog_frames p
So my questions is why? I have tryed it bothe ways and both appear to play fine on settop DVD players, but if I view the settings in DVD2Avi for example the first command shows the m2v file to be switching between interlaced and progressive. And the second command stays constant at progressive...
Naturally you would think just stay with the second command right? Well I agree so far, but I would really like to understand what/why is happening and is the difference between the two. Should I check the frame type of the original m2v and match it be it interlaced /or/ progressive..... should I leave it with the first command...... or should I always use the progressive command???

I believe I read that you need to use it to make it Scenarist compliant. There was a thread over at doom9 forums discussing it, you might want to check with a search. I've done it both ways.
