since i found this easy to use programm to join avis, i was wondering if it was any good with audio merging. ac3 seems to be ok, but what about vbr mp3 ?
coz the problem i'm having is that the joined *.avi seems to playback ok with a software decoder.
but after divx->svcd encoding nero says (after choosing to burn a svcd of course), it has no standard mpg file to convert (though video 480x480 29xxxfps seems to be ok...nero unfortunately doesn't tell me what is wrong with the file in particular, so i guess it's audio). the problem might be that i extracted the audio from the merged *.avi to *.wav with goldwave and gave tmpgenc the avi as video source and the extracted *.wav as audio source (though that should be ok, shouldn't it).
anyway.. nero(and vcdeasy) doesn't recognize the file as standard and if i choose not to burn standard svcd the file can only be approx.720mb big (instead of the usual 83xmb). guess nero doesn't want non standard mpeg2 files to be the usual 83x size. littlebit confusing, i know. so my question is: is it ok just to merge 2 avis, extract the audio as wav, and choose them in tmpgenc? and is boilsoft AVI/MPEG/RM the suitable tool for merging xvid/divx ac3/mp3vbr avis ? unfortunately the boilsoft hp is of no use, when it comes to questions like this.
