  1. DVD+R/RW? The Bin/Cue files I have are of a 4 cd set that normally would be burnt as SVCD's but I would like to burn them to DVD since my DVD player (Apex 1500) plays SVCD-DVD's so could someone tell me how to burn them so they play back to back like chapters of an authentic DVD? I don't want to go through the headache of reconverting everything (video, sound, etc), I just want to burn the files straight to DVD and I don't want to have to keep changing discs or selecting new files to play the movie and I need some coaching. Thanks!

  2. I would extract the mpeg2 files from the .bin files, join them, and then burn them to your dvd-r using nero.

    Good Luck

  3. you could also try using nero vision express - it should put all of them onto the dvd and set them up as chapters

  4. Can I just select the cue files in Nero express to burn and will Nero do all the conversion work, or will it just burn the bin and cue files if I do nothing else to them? Also, will my Apex DVD player read the Bin and cue files as video? anytime I have ever burned an svcd, the files I used were already converted to svcd compliant mpeg2. I guess I don't understand how bin and cue files work. Thanks for all your input thus far.

  5. I don't know how good Nero encoder is but I wouldn't trust it to much.
What I did was use VCDGear and extract the movies out of the bin/cue then re-encode each to the DVD standard in TMPGEnc.

Then I made myself menu's and extra's and crap in DVD Maestro but that is not needed if you don't want anything other than the movie.

  6. Yeah, I don't really need anything else on the disc besides the movie. I have never attempted to burn bin./cue. files. Normally if i wanted to burn these svcd bin cue files to CD in stead of DVD, all I would have to do is select the bin/cue file in Nero and burn directly to the CD instead of having to rip the mpg file, reencode everything and go through a bunch of other slow processes correct. Nero is supposed to do everything without me having to do anything to the files correct? I know that Nero doesn't work 100% but that is what its function is. I just wanted to make sure.

  7. If you are gonna do it through nero still use VCDgear to extract the mpg files out and add those to your Nero layout.

  9. See bin/cue files are just RAW images of the data on say a CD or DVD.
Similar to ISO files, Nero NRG files and IMG files.

You could sort equate them to zip files. It's 1 file that stores a bunch of files / directories inside it.

So when they get written back they turn into the proper files and directories.
Now the bin/cue's that you have are for cd, it's probably quite possible to have DVD bin/cue never tried.

What you want is the MPG (movie file) files inside the bin file. Thats what VCD Gear does. It extract that file for you.

So you are saying that you must extract the mpg file no matter what and there is no other way to avoid it, correct? I didn't want to have to waste a bunch of space on my harddrive (its only 14 gigs and has alot of the space taken already). Thats why I was asking if nero already conditions the files to be played in a DVD player. Trust me, my DVD player will play anything you throw at it, but I wasn't sure about bin/cue files.

  11. If you burn the bin/cue files as data to a DVD+-R(W) there is a 100% chance they won't play. Like they talk about above, you'll have to extract the mpegs and then use an authoring app to make the new video out of the parts.

You might consider another HD - 40 or 60GBs are usually around $50-$70
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  12. Just like Kitty said to you there is a 100% chance they won't play. It's like a burning zip or rar files with movies inside and asking your DVD player to unzip then then play the movie... it just ain't gonna happen.
