I've been working to get a bunch of issues worked out with creating a MPEG2 file with TMPGEnc, and I think I am down to my last two -- any help on them would be greatly appreciated!

I am ripping a animation DVD with SmartRipper, loading it into DVD2AVI and saving a project. In TMPGEnc I am using the 2 Pass VBR with Noise Reduction and Deinterlace set (I am also using the Top Down field order).

When I create my MPEG2 file, long horizontal movement (e.g.: pan shots) are jerky. I've tried several different settings in the Deinterlace settings, but nothing got rid of it completly... I believe it was "Double adaptation" that was better, but bright lights in the scene flickered (that shouldn't have been).

The other problem I am having is that lines that should be smooth are now jagged. I know why this happening (it's the Deinterlacing), but I has hoping that someone could point out a setting (or several settings) that will help keeps lines looking the way they should (and not like a set of stairs).

Many thanks for any help!!
