  1. Hi, I know this sounds silly, but I really can't copy a still image for editing in e.g. PaintShop. I find a frame that I want to copy (either in DVD2AVI or Windows Media Player) and I hit Print Screen. I then paste this into PaintShip Pro, a Word document, etc.... but I seem to be pasting a view of the movie, not a single frame image (sorry, it's hard to explain... )

E.g. I then play the movie, and my pasted image plays too. If I close the movie window, my pasted image disappears, and I'm just left with a black screen where the frame was. (Does this make sense???)

Any ideas on what is happening?

    Thanks!

  3. Here's a quick solution:

first close all your media player
    1. go to start -> run -> type: dxdiag
    2. to the display tab, then disable "DirectDraw Acceleration"
    3. try again (open media player and print screen)
    4. if you finish print-screening don't forget to re-enable the directdraw acceleration.

Load the AVI or Mpeg 1 into Vdub, go to the frame you want and select Video > Copy source frame to clipboard

Now switch to Paint Shop Pro and select paste. You may need to try a few times before you get the frame, it usally works first time.
