  1. I have transferred a number of home videos to DVD. I should like to create chapter points every five or ten minutes through the films. I am not interested in making a front menu system, I simply need a way of traversing through the films using the next and previous buttons. Is there an easy way to make evenly spaced chapter points?

  2. Check out SpruceUP, you should be able to do your chapters with that. You will have to have a menu but you can make the disc just start playign the movie on start.

Works fine with Ulead moviefactory also. Add the video, choose add chapters and click auto. THen just select the first video as the first play item and you are done.

  4. Yeah, i noticed spruce-up makes a freaking menu, but i just
deleted the Video_ts.vob/vts_01_0.vob, then use ifoedit to
    fix just in case...

Ulead MovieFactory is very good for what you need. But in fact you are going to create a menu with chapters, you like it or not.

  6. I wonder if I have incorrectly stated my query. I have a single mpg file ready for burning to DVD. This is in fact a family home movie. I should like to automatically add chapter points at predetermined set intervals, ie every five minutes, thus enabling me to fast forward and rewind through the film using the NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons. Normally I encode from DV to mpg2 using TMPGenc, then create the folders using ULead DVD Moviefactory, then burn using Nero.

Baldrick, thank you for your reply, however I cannot find an Auto button.
