  1. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this...

...enways, I'm trying to copy a PC game (ie TombRaider) to my hard disk, thinking that I'd still be able to install and launch the game even without the game's CD on my CDRom (just like with some other games)...however, with this one, im not able to for some reason or another, it still asks for the game cd to be inserted on the CDrom drive...so I thought ...what if I copied the entire game cd on a cdr/w and launch the game app from there? Hmmm...

It still won't recognize the copied cdr...is this a copyright thing? Only the orig game cd will work...how come? Btw, I used Nero to burn the cdr/w...Is there a work-around to this? Or did I just miss something?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

What you can do is try and make a cd image using cdrwin. Put that on your hard drive and install daemon tools. In daemon tools load the image and try to install and if it still won't work you can turn on safe disk emulation and that might solve your problem.

tgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have.

  6. Use *CloneCD* for perfect 1:1 copies of protected games that need no cracks to run from CD drive!!!
