I have spent hours (okay days) trying to convert and burn an .avi file.
I encoded the avi file using Vdub to split the audio and TMPGenc to encode in 4 parts. Each part is 20 minutes. I can play each part of the encoded MPEG2 file on the PC and the quality and sound are perfect. It is encoded at 6000 fps.
I burned the DVD-R using UleadMF on Memorex DVD-R media. Prior to burning I previewed it using UleadMF and it looked great. Each of the 4 parts = a single chapter. Part 4, the video and audio in perfect sync.
Once burned using my Sony DRU500a, I played it in my JVC S502. It plays great (a little jerkiness but not that noticeable). The problem is that if I click on the menu and play chapter 4, the audio is off from the video by 5 seconds or more.
It must be something wrong with UleadMF or the Sony drive. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Does Moviefactory reconverts the video and audio?? When you author and burn with moviefactoyr it should only multiplex if you have made the mpg with tmpgenc.
