I am a beginner in VCD recording, but was able to solve most of the problems I had dy reading magazine articles and various forums.
But there is one problem I could not solve yet:

There are some AVIs that TMPGEnc doesn't encode: When I select the AVI as video source, it is not selected as Audio source automatically, and when I try to select the same AVI as audio source, some error message is displayed like Audio not supported ?? This happens only with SOME AVIs, and it seems that it happens with the AVIs that have AC3 sound. Can anyone help me ???

I have had this problem before use virtualdub to save the audio as a wav file and use that in the audio part of tmpge. I don't remimber exactly how it is done but I know you can do it in there.

  3. Yes!! Like Shochan said you first rip the sound with "VirtualDub" (there is a "save wav" in there), then you use two sources with Tmpeg, on for video and your new wav file for audio. If you get a bad result from Virtualub, rename the wav file to *.ac3 instead of *.wav, and run it through a program called "AC3 Decoder", you will get a new and hopefully a better wav from doing this...Good luck
