  1. I, like others who have posted in this forum, am looking for a DVD player that can read both NTSC and PAL. I've seen some players listed, such as a couple by Cyber Home. My question is this: Can I switch back and forth between the two formats for an unlimited number of times? I've heard that players will let you switch formats 4 or 5 times, and then it will stick with the last format, and won't let you change again. Does anyone know if Cyber Home players will let you keep changing?

  2. Are talking about DVD-players that can play NTSC or PAL disks. Or you are looking for player that can play Region 1 or 2 disks ?

  3. You are confusing NTSC-PAL with region coding, and the switching is for region codes. This switching of region codes is a function of PC DVD players not standalone DVD players. If a DVD player states that it can play PAL and NTSC formats then it can play them full stop, there is no time limit. It does not necessarily follow however that it will play all region discs, so make sure that the player has this option if you are planning on playing discs from another region.

To illustrate, lets say you have a DVD player that can play both PAL and NTSC discs.

You are in region1 (USA) NTSC

You buy a region2 (Europe) PAL DVD

Although your player can play the PAL format, if it is locked to region 1 it will not play the region2 PAL disc.
