  1. Probably been covered a thousand times, so apologies in advance.
I've burned an mpeg file as vcd using Nero 5.5 ( it threw out an error message trying to burn as svcd ). Disk burned fine, but when I play it on the dvd player, there is no sound at all. I've come to work and left TMPGEnc running simple multiplex, but as I haven'y used this before, I don't know if that will fix things.
    Any advise gratefully received.

  2. And no replies....

Anyway, doing this ha senabled me to burn as svcd using nero if I turn off standard compliance. However, I still get no sound when playing through the dvd player ( cyberhome adl528 ).
I'm going to try burning as a vcd again, and also try burning with vcdeasy to see what happens.

  3. Well, the reason you get no replies, is that there is no general answer to this. Why won't nero burn your files as standar compliant files? in what format are they? You could give us some information about what format audio/video is in, wich bitrate used and so on... would help solving the problem...
Also i hope you have checked the right multiplexing settings in TMPGEnc (SVCD), or maybe you should try BBmpeg?
I wanna be bigger, stronger, drive a faster car...

  4. Bulten, I'm in work so will have to check this tomorrow, but the files are not my rips, and have been posted to a newsgroup ( several days ago ), to which I haven't seen any commentsor complaints of errors.
As far as I'm aware, the files are in mpeg format, because when winrar'd they do not produce a bin and cue file. As for bitrates, how on earth do I check these things. I have succesfully used vcdeasy before, and have changed no settings in the interim.

Open the file in Vdub and click file / file information. Hope this helps.
