  1. I really am confused about what media to get. I don't really trust the 50 cent no name dvd-rs out there. There are alot of companies that sell dvd-rs. So if someone who has the Sony DRUA500 that bought media online can tell me if that media is reliable for making backups of your collection of dvds, i would really be thankful. Please if you can include where on the web you got it. Thanks Alot :P

  3. i have used princo 1x, and the accu 1x media. both work great, and they are less than a buck a piece. burned a 150 so far and the only errors were my fault. i found them to be more compatible then memorex. (all -r)

  4. Donpredro's link is good.

For DVD backups, I order Accu from cdrdvdrmedia.com with cases for a little over a $1 each. Bad thing is that with Accu, the manufacturer always varies, and some people haven't had much luck, while others can burn at 2x! If you're lucky, you will get some good ones.

For your home made edited and authored disks, I recommend using some main brand quality for best compatibility. After spending hours at editing and authoring, it doesn't make sense to skimp to save a dollar.

I've never had coaster. It's good to use RW when experimenting/testing.

Totaly agree with this one. Who would think about time that is needed to compile your own DVD (or just tape) on PC before ? Before I just copied everythink on VHS tape and I had long, boring home video But that is kind of off topic.

  6. hi,

I always Burn on a RW media and test it and then burn on DVD-R. For my home movies i use TDK. I got a Good Deal for 16 Discs TDK for 1$ each from compusa and 9.99 for four DVD+RW for Verbatim. i use the RW for testing and so. I have not tested any of the cheap stuff. but will soon. No costers so for on tdk or Verbatim. But once coster on memorek. i got only one disk for 2 $. and did not work out.
