  1. When I didn't have a Pioneer 105 DVD-R I was capturing my tv programs and burning them to SVCD. Now that I have a burner I want to move these SVCD's to DVD-R. I realize you can't author a SVCD directly to DVD-R.

Here's where I get hung up. I am using tmpgenc to join the 4 mpg2 files that I have extracted from the SVCD's. I join parts 1 and 2. The audio is fine throughout the portion that contains part 1 but as soon as part 2 starts playing the audio sync gets WAY off...I don't know why and I am getting frustrated. Instead of having 4 cd's i really want to put this crap on one DVD-R. Can you help me out?

You don't have to join them if you use a good dvd authoring tool that can make them all play continues after each other. I just tried ulead moviefactory 2 and it will automatically play each mpg clip after each other. I updated the dvd-svcd guide, www.vcdhelp.com/svcddvdr

Other authoring tools supports this also, like dvdit, dvdmaestro. You then select manually next play item.

But if you want to join to remove the svcd overlapping(repeating video between svcds) this would not help you.
