I recently bought myself some dvd-r's named noname![]()
but they didnt work on my pioneer a05,
burning seemed to work fine with nero, but afterwards
they make weird sounds, and none of my dvd-players
works with them!
i aksed the netshop i bought them from, and i could send back
th 40 i had in cakebox, and get money back, but he also said
there would surly come a new fireware that actually supported these
discs.
so i where woundering, is there a fireware out there (other than 1.21)
that actually works with them, or anyone else with the same problem?

how would they (or you ) know if there would be a firmware upgrade for a no name disk ? you got fed bull ...
find out what kind of disk they really are though - tools for this in the dvdr media section , then see if anyone else has same problems .. -
ok
, to be exact:
they told me that there came a fireware version quickly to a04, and
they beleved there would come one just as fast to a05 .
sorry about the misleeding, saw how you could mistake it
the discs where named NoName DVD-R disc 4,7GB (650nm)
there doesnt seem to be anything on this discs in dvdrmedia ether,
its cheap discs, but the cd-r's are marvelous, and cheap.
hoped the dvd'rs would be just as good. -
when they are no name disks - this means that from lot ot lot (different packages) can be made by different companies and you have no warrenty that even if they work now - the next order will work .
as i said - they are feeding you a line and if they dont work -- get your money back .. -
I used no-name 1X all white DVD-R for 2$ canadien.
The vendor told me they where princo`s and I saw on this site that the pioneer can handle 1x princos so I Bought 10 of them at first to try them.
They worked fine. Burn at 1X using InstantCD/DVD. My firmware is 1.21
Note: I strongly suggest you dont use NERO, there is loads and loads of people complaining they are having problems with it.
Anyway, I returned and bought a stack of 50. There is absolutly no brand on either the disk or the packaging. So I am gonna trust the vendor there are made by princo`s. -
DONT USE NERO? whatll u gonna use, lots of other
proggies have hard time recognizing the 105...
i only use 5917 -
RecordNow Max 4.5 and EZCD Creator both work with the 105 and as much as it pains me to say NERO has given me many more problems recently than either of these for DVD burning. As a matter of fact I think RecordNow Max is quickly taking over all duties from NERO. It's a very good program with only one annoying feature, I can't seem to set the exact speed at which to record when burning CDs.
