Yes, my eyes. I look at it and say to myself, thats a DVD
.
Seriously, try this.
http://pioneerdvd.firmware-flash.com/ADVDInfo.zip
I have not tried it myself, so I can't comment on whether it works. -
Works in DVD-Burner and on "-" disks only.
For "+" I use Nero CD Speed v1.02 ( menu Extra / Disc info )Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
I've tried ADVDInfo.zip but I get:
ASPI Command returned:
SenseKey 02h; ASC 3Ah; ASCQ 00h
Something to do with my Sony DRU500A (not PIONEER)? -
No. Couple of rules....
1. You need ASPI drivers (see Tools section here)
2. It works only in DVD burner
3. It works only with -R/RW media (not +R/RW)
Did you followed these rules ?
Still.... you can use Nero's CD Speed v 1.02 (also down. http://www.cdspeed2000.com/ ) to get info on +media.Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -

3. Yes. I only tried with PRINCO DVD-R 2x. In fact, I was to see the real manufacter name to post it here (since I don't have any problem with them)
Thanks for CDSpeed tip. I have seen this tip in other message from you just 10mn ago. I'll try it at home.

Donpedro,
What kind of Info do you get from CDSpeed? All I get is a recording Speed. Do you MFG info and such?
jopereira,
Sometimes it helps if you have the wnaspi32.dll file in the same directory as the DVDInfo executable. Also make sure you are running the "OE" format option. This gives the disk lead-in info which will tell you the Disk MFG.

You need at least v1.02 and then go to Extra / Disc Info

Thanks Donpedro. It appears that the disk has to have some info written on it before you can identify the vendor. Good deal. This will defintely help in identifying dud media.

I believe that ALL DVD disks have that info... Do you have some that is missing this information ? Where did you get it ?
