im trying to make an svcd of my tv cap and encode it in tmpgenc. in settings, under "encode mode" do i want to go with "interlace" or "non-interlace"?

A TV capture will be interlaced, so you're probably better off with your encode mode set to interlaced as well (unless you're processing your video to convert it to progressive).
