    Why am I always having problems converting ASF to AVI???
    Here's my current problem. It happened with a couple of ASF files I'm trying to convert.
    Here's the error message:

    VirtualDub Error

    Couldn't locate decompressor for format "WMV1" (Unknown)


    Help! What does this mean?

    *** This is with VirtualDub 1.3c. ***

    Try using TMPGEnc, I do not believe Virtual Dub converts .asf files.

    Download VirtualDub 1.3c in the Tools section as it can open ASF files.

    The lastest Vdub version is 1.4.13, you might want to get that. The WMV1 is the Window Media Version 1 codec for the ASF file. Go to MS web site.

    puertorican138 is correct. Only the older version VirtualDub 1.3c can do ASF. VirtualDub later versions do not support ASF (Micro@#@%@ saw to that)
