  2. Your MPEG is probably in the wrong pack size.

Try demultiplexing and remultiplexing your MPEG with TMPGEnc or bbMPEG.

"TSCV" is this some kind of Gui for VCDimager?
If so, the problem will be here.
I'm writing a GUI myself and I know VCDimager will not mess with your tracks, unless there was some (bad) setting that will do so in the XML.
Can you post a copy of the XML pls?

  6. I doesn't sound like there's anthing wrong with the XML but rather with the mpeg stream itself.

ThaSmig, what are the specs of your mpeg? (bitrate, framesize, framerate, etc.)

    Regards.

  7. the specs of the vcd and svcd i have tried it with are

    352x240 bitrate=1150CQ, framerate=29.97 audio=160 (Mpeg 1)
    480x480 bitrate=CQ_VBR - MAX=1500, MIN=800 @ 60, framerate=23.97, audio=160 (Mpeg 2)

  8. Okay, your mpeg isn't actually VCD compliant. When you remuxed your MPEG-1 with TMPGEnc, did you try MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard)?

    This may help.

  9. I had a similar problem before when I use Tmpgenc to cut a mpg file into 2 parts. The size of the two bin files created by VCDImager were both about 100 Mb gretaer than the individual (cut) mpg files. Since then I have stopped using Tmpgenc to do the cutting. If I want to convert Divx to Mpg, I usually cut the divx file with virtualdub, then encode with Tmpgenc. This way I will end up with two mpg files which will fit nicely into 2 cds and avoid having to cut the mpg files.

I also experienced the 100mb add-on thing (actually, VCDImager/TSCV turned my 702mb file into a 900mb bin/cue; broke my heart). I'm making a 100% VCD compliant disc using the latest versions of TSCV and VCDImager as of 1 Sep 01.

Before I upgraded I made a bin/cue using previous versions of the gui and backend, and ended up with a smaller file, more like the size of the actual MPEG-1. I thought I'd do well to use the latest versions of both, so I overwrote the proggies with the updates. What a mistake.

The use of the number keypad for entrypoint selection is really neat, though. I love that.

Interestingly enough, this morning I made a bin/cue from a different, but still 100% compliant VCD encode, and TSCV/VCDImager only added 12mb of overhead to my bin/cue. What gives?

In my situation with the 702mb MPEG file yielding a 900mb bin/cue, it was a 352x480 xSVCD encode. Does VCDImager dislike strongly off-spec encodes?
