how do i write a perefect back up DVD?

Ive made a perfect backup of a DVd in smartripper. Ive come to burn it back and im having problems. Normally i use Prassi to important the video_ts (and Audio_ts if its there) and write it back this way, but prassi has been crashing out alot and ruining discs.
So instead i wrote usinf easy cd creator. I selcted the create a DVD date disc on my platinum 5.3 version. ITs wrote the movie fine but it wont play on any stand aloen dvd players.
Does anyone have a way that they write perfect back ups?
