It should be pretty self-explanatory. What exactly are you wanting to do?

The main thing to note, if you get an immediate crash, is to install the correct .dlls to suit your CPU.

For what do you want to use it?

To create mp2 stereo from ac3 its pretty simple
1,Extract the ac3 from the avi with vdub
    open in headac3he
in the options you can select wich channel to extract
adjust the outpu to the required type ( waw, mp2 )
ac3 to wav aim for hybrid
    resample to 44.1 kHz
adjust the audio gains if it needs to be adjusted

    save

Of course mind that the correct Dll's are needed to work fast and to do work at all
The program prompts in the log window if a dll is missing on not uptodate
You can get the correct dlls from t6he adresses written under the "about" tab

These will become more apparent when you have Dolby Digital .AC3 file with 6 channels. You may want to convert to .wav, .mp3 or .mp2 with 2 channels. You have the option to adjust the individual channels to your liking, without the surround sound drowning out the dialogue, for instance. However in most cases the default settings work out pretty well.
