  1. ok, i'm trying to encode an SVCD to DVD compliant mpeg-2. (8 mile - tcf dvd) when it gets past the universal intro and right after the Imagine intro (right where the sound starts) TMPGENC errors, and closes. Same point every time. I tried cutting out the intros, and now tmpgenc won't even LOAD the video, it just errors right off. I don't know if it has anything to do with the sound, which is at 44 Khz... tmpgenc usually fixes it so its 48 KHz... i tried using the unlock.mcf on the dvd ntsc template, cause its Film 4:3 AR, and i changed the framerate to 23.97 fps, but still no dice... anyone else have this (yeah, right) problem? PLEASE HELP!

  2. I was having a very similar problem, but I was able to delete the config files and get it to work.

In the long run, my conclusions was that I must have had some conflicting codecs installed, but it's just a guess. When I stripped it down to the bare essentials, all was fine (leaving only standard MS codecs and DivX 5.0.2).

  3. hm, i'm going straight from SVCD mpeg to DVD compliant mpeg. i also resampled the audio to 48 KHz. there's a sync error at around 5 minutes into it, but i don't think that should be a problem. still getting an error when i try to load the video. any possible way around this? *sigh*

  4. If your avi or audio streams have errors or corrupted data this will cause crashed. Try re-ripping the DVD and restarting the MPEG-2 encoding process befor emessing with codecs.

  5. I've had some errors as well.
The one I get most often is a Kernal32.dll error that states- "Read error at address BFF7A115 Kernal32.dll with 0246EF0C". Would happen at different times before during or after encoding, navigating menus, loading a source, etc...(No bad frames in any of the sources applied to my knowledge).

To find a solution I tried all the different ways of installing codecs, uninstalling...reinstalling, using Nimo and without, or both.
Set the Directshow to higher priorities.
    Reinstalled TMPGEnc(2.59) numerous times.
    Tried versions 2.58 and 2.57.

Nothing worked until I was able to install v2.56. Things seem to work ok for now. Maybe try this or install the newest version, 2.510.

    Win98 here.
