Pioneer 104 and the firmware update using Ritek...

I have the Pioneer104 with firmware 1.32. Never had any problems so far. I have only used Verbatiim dvd-r at 1x recording. I ordered some Ritek, they arent the 4x. Will it be ok to leave the firmware as is or should i up the firmware to 1.4? I didnt know if there were any problems with the new firmware and the older Riteks?

The Ritek G03 disk are suppose to burn at 2x on a specific firmware or with a firmware hack.... as long as they are not the 4x disk you will not need to upgrade to use them.

Personally I think the reliability of the disk (ritek g03) goes down when you burn at 2x, but others say it works perfect for them....

I burnt xXx at 2x on the verbatim and the quality didnt seem as good as another movie i did at 1x. But i did a different movie at 2x and it was fine so i dont know. I just hope those Riteks will hold up.
