  1. alot of people has been having sync problems with huge m2v files. i have too. qt does not like them big i dont know why. so people have to mplex the whole file into smaller pieces and drag them into qt. but some still have sync problems towards the end right? well, what i have tried worked flawlessly so far.

extract your movie using elementary streams with osex.

mplex the file (if too big to fit on dvd5) into 2 pieces

export each file to .m2v (so you have 2 .m2vs of the movie)

rename the extention to .mpg and join them using the "mpeg join" function with moremissingtools app

rename the file back to .m2v and do the rest in dvd studio pro.

i did akira with this method and worked fine, no sync problems! the movie itself was 5 gigs and compressed it down to 3.9 to fit on dvd-r. try this out and tell me if this helps out for you guys as well...

But then you lost the subtitles, so you had to use the dubbed version of the soundtrack, less than appealing. Try out Kai and Bile's new software Forty-Two when it comes out any day now. That's a good tip for non-foreign flicks though.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  3. I totally understand you. I'd rather have the original, but hey it works. one more thing. you will need to re-timecode it since it was two files joined together. use the "bits" function in moremissingtools for that. Yeah, I can't wait to see this app that is coming out from them. But I think they said it's only going to benefit vcd/svcd makers.
