  1. I have patiently trawled thru all the guides in relation to settings in Tmpgenc for Svcd (Pal) ie what aspect ratio , display for wide screen etc , but everything seems to be geared towards Ntsc. I'm not sure if anybody has done one of these guides for just Pal users . I would be very obliged if someone could point me i the right direction.

Aspect ratio is the same for ntsc and pal. 4:3,16:9 and so. What exactly are your problems?

And PLEASE wait a few days before bumping your topic. This is not a real time chat.

    Simple enough tweaks......

firstly ignore all the telecine stuff as it really doesnt apply (unless you're doing conversion from a dodgy ntsc source, which can be a total bitch even with / especially with PAL)

change all the 23.976s, 24s, 29.97s and 30s to 25s, 240s to 288s, 480s to 576s, and 525s to 625s - and get the calculator out to rework all the other things similarly eg pixel ratios (often it turns out to be almost a neat reciprocal of the ntsc one, ie 1/x ). all done.

i won't go into my ntscfilm->pal conversion method again, it's too long

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!
