  1. I understand this DVD is quite compatible with VCD,SVCD & CVDs. I'm curious to whom is actually the manufacturer of this player as I believe Norcent is a Wal-mart tradestyle (ie: Sears and Kenmore).

Also are there any issues with this player I should be aware of (stability, quality, over heating, etc).

    Cheers

  2. Get yourself over to the Norcent forum over at Nerd Out here.

You need to do some serious reading : the capability of the player and what can and can't be switched on/off can be determined by the serial number of the unit

  4. Just bought one and all I can say is W-O-W. Plays svcds & cvds as good as my Pioneer 333 and that's saying alot. Put in a cd-r full of jpegs and played the full contents of a folder with out a hicup.

Put in a cd-r full of various mpegs I downloaded from the 'net and played them flawlessly. All this for $94.00 Canadian. Wal-mart has a winner here !

    I love this unit.

I'm gonna re-post this in the review section.....

Sadly, that particular model (DVE631CF) is virtually sold out, more's the pity...

(I'm from the independent Sampo DVD site Area 450 so thanks for the indirect plug

  6. Can I ask what is the standby button on the remote for (Norcent 300) ? Is this like a power on/off button ?

    Thanks
