Hello,
I don't want to beat a completely dead horse, but I am going crazy trying to get this *&$*%##@ thing to work. Here's the setup:
P4 2ghz
512 mb
50 gig HD
SBLive! Sound Card
STB TV PCI Card
Win98
etc, etc, etc
I have the video connected to the coax input and the audio is coming from the Aux input crossover from the STB to the sound card. (If I try to go through the sound cards "line in" jack I don't get anything and going through the microphone jack sounds terrible.)
I can watch the video and hear the audio. I even, using the wonderful and extremely helpful "how-to's" have been able to setup VirtualDub to also watch the video and hear the audio. It captures the video, but it's "jumpy". By that I mean it runs fine for a second or 2 then pauses and then catches up, etc. Also, the only thing I get for audio is the occasional click. I have made sure that the recording portion of the volume settings is set to the same as the playback (Auxiliary). If I put it on something else, I can't hear anything, so I assume that is correct.
I have tried all different settings and video codecs (Huffy, MJpeg, etc.), as well as several different capture programs.
Anyone who has a similar setup as mine, please help and if time permits, let me pick your brain about my setup, maybe there is a better way of doing it.
Thanks,
Walter
